Your vehicle must be street legal Tinted windows and any other vehicle modification must be within the legal limits.Your vehicle must have proof of insurance (CT Minimum insurance is $20,000 per person, $40,000 per accident, $10,000 property damage per accident, and out of state vehicles still must meet CT requirements).

  • The DMV Inspector will do a thorough inspection prior to going out on the road, and we recommend you do your own inspection before you head to the DMV.
  • Your vehicle must be mechanically safe (All lights working, all tires fully inflated, no cracks in any glass including mirrors, no warning lights on, no major body damage).
  • Your vehicle must be appropriate for the license class you are applying for.

  • Driver’s License Tests are offered at The Next Street facilities in Avon, Cheshire, Danbury, Enfield, Glastonbury, Guilford, Hamden, Monroe, Norwalk, Orange, Rocky Hill, Southbury, Torrington, Wallingford, Watertown and Westport.
  • After you pass, the DMV will mail your driver's license to you within 7-10 days.
